The detritus of post industrial America lost
The leavings of civilization most
Of us, if not all, know the cost
Is too much for us and our kids to bear
Flies by in this train's windows
Along the Northeast corridor shows
It matters deeply when we refuse
To notice or calculate the result of what we use
And to appreciate Gods beauty
Over our waste and what we abuse
Leaves us with a duty
To return our people and our world to a wonder
Of what God and nature have wrought
So much greater than what we have sought
